Prom 2026 is May 2, 2026 at Hotel Ballast in Downtown Wilmington.

Please read each item below carefully so you know what to expect with AHS prom.

Only Jrs and Srs may purchase tickets for the prom; they must be in good standing with no outstanding debts and no behavioral or attendance issues.

Sophomores may attend the prom, Freshman may not.

To Get Into the Prom

  • Have your PHOTO ID and your digital ticket in hand (cell phone is easiest).  Your ticket name/number will be matched with your ID and face. 
  • the Digital Ticket can only be used once (but they will check at the door to make sure your name matches the attendee).
  • All school rules will be enforced and any disruption will result in school disciplinary actions and your removal from the prom. All guests must also follow school rules, including possession of tobacco products/ vapes etc. (regardless of age)
  • Understand that you are in a public place, respect the facilities, and all people there. 
  • ​​​Understand your bag/purse may be checked as a standard security measure and there will be deputies present for your protection as well as metal detectors used upon entry.
  • Dress Appropriately - this is a formal event.  If your choices are deemed to be too casual, too revealing, or otherwise inappropriate, you may be refused admission.
  • There should be no influence of drugs or alcohol. Anyone suspected to be under the influence will be refused admission and turned over to authorities.

YOU MUST HAVE YOUR TICKET AND PHOTO ID to enter the prom.  

The AHS prom will provide light hors d'oeuvres and beverages throughout the evening.
Prior to prom, students may decide to dine at many of the downtown restaurants, but just to let you know, the Hotel Ballast sponsors three in-house or "right next door" restaurants: Board and Barrel, their newest waterfront casual dining option, Ruth's Chris Steak House, one of Wilmington's award-winning fine dining venues, and a coffee house, Buffalo Bayou.
It is recommended to make reservations early, remember, no one can enter the prom past 8:30!

Guidelines

  • Students must be in good standing academically and behaviorally with no financial obligations in order to attend.
  • If you have 10 or more unexcused absences, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ATTEND PROM (per Administration).
  • Only Ashley Juniors & Seniors (& early graduates) may purchase tickets
  • Only 600 tickets will be sold.
  • Each Jr/Sr may purchase up to two tickets with completed paperwork (Application & all fees paid)
  • Guests must be at least in 10th grade (Sophomores) and no older than 20 years of age.
  • Guests do not have to attend Ashley High School, but you must have completed a guest form, which could include a clearance fine or background check; something will be sent to you and your guest (you might have to have their high school sign off on their own fines)
  • Once you submit your application form, you will then receive your guest code in order to purchase tickets for your guests via your school email.  Please know it could take up to 48-72 hours to process.  (as long as you have your application has been submitted with no fines or fees  owed by the pricing tier deadline, you will not have to pay more per ticket.
  • Tickets can only be purchased through Hometown Ticketing.
  • No Tickets will be sold after April 24th.
  • Tickets will be DIGITALLY DISTRIBUTED - you will receive it immediately after purchase.  If you take a screenshot beware it can only be scanned ONCE upon entry; the ticket must match the name on your photo ID (so bring your phone and your photo ID to prom)​​​
  • If there is an issue with your ticket, you can see Ms. Penegar in room 412.
  • ALL PAPERWORK (the Google Form Application and all fees paid in full) MUST BE COMPLETED BY 3:40 PM ON APRIL 24TH AND TICKETS MUST BE PURCHASED BY APRIL 27th. The ticketing system will shut off at midnight on the 27th or when the tickets sell out.
  • NO REFUNDS. If you buy a ticket, you have a ticket.  If you buy one for the date of your dreams, but later they are a nightmare, you are stuck with that ticket.

 

 

 

Parking info.

Parking Downtown on the street is free after 6pm, but for a guaranteed spot, you should park in the Riverview Garage (directly across the street from the hotel).  Unfortunately, the city did not allow for free parking.  the deck rates are as followed:

  • Up to 1 hour;   $2
  • Up to 2 hours; $4
  • Up to 3 hours; $6
  • 3 to 8 hours; $9         
  • 8 to 24 hours; $14 Max     
  • Evening Flat Rate; $10
    • Thurs-Sat (9pm-2am)

Tips for a Fun Night:

  • Arrive early! Prom begins at 7:00.  We will not allow anyone to enter past 8:30 pm
  • You may leave the prom anytime AFTER we finish admitting, but once you leave, you MAY NOT RE-ENTER.
